You have no obligation to provide any content to our services and you’re free to choose the content that you want to provide. If you choose to upload or share content, please make sure you have the necessary rights to do so and that the content is lawful.
Your content remains yours, which means that you retain any intellectual property rights that you have provided in your content. If your intellectual property rights restrict our use of your content, please note that we will need your permission to remediate. We need your permission if your intellectual property rights restrict our use of your content. You provide Golden Accessibility with permission for the use of your content if you sign a contact agreement for the services we can provide.
Prior to start any remediation work, Golden Accessibility provides a timeframe and a quote.
For the remediation we do the following:
Remediate all English and non-English content non accessible pdf’s and Microsoft Office files to meet the accessibility standards of WCAG 2.0 guidelines. Examples include: generating a tagged PDF, adding alternative text and table summaries, organizing and structuring list, table and heading structures, including document properties, identifying art works (charts/graphs), manually verifying color contrast, bookmarking pages, and ensuring appropriate tooltips are translated and applied to the form fields.
Each document if remediated will be made to pass the accessibility checker and be tested and verified by using at least one or more screen readers.
The services need to be performed remotely.
All electronic documents or data identified by the customer in need of remediation shall be provided to Golden Accessibility electronically, unless another method of transfer is agreed upon by the parties. All materials provided remain property of the customer and shall not be retained, copied, distributed or otherwise held by Golden Accessibility after conclusion of this agreement.
Electronic fillable forms must be provided before remediation. Non-fillable forms will not be converted to an electronically fillable form as this process is part of creating content and applying a new modification on the function of the document. If you would like an electronically fillable format remediated, you would need to send the document prepared in form-format with the appropriate form fields on the document.
If the document is protected and locked, passwords must be provided in order to remediate the document. We do not archive or save passwords, therefore, passwords must be sent with the requested documents or you can provide an unprotected document type.
A color contrast review will be made and can provide feedback on documents that may be failing on having enough contrast to meet the Compliance AA requirements. We can make changes to the color if needed, however, we would need to be granted permission with a request to change the color to the content. Our selection will be based on the minimum degree of change to the color that can meet the color contrast requirements. If changes to the color are made, we will need to receive a confirmation that the change is of satisfactory.
Weekly status Reports to the Project Representative can be provided if requested. The reports contain an overview of project tasks, pages of documents remediated, and the number and status of documents remediated. These reports provide data of the progress and efficiency of our services.
We cannot scan the customers website to identify types of content, English and non-English, needing remediation due to us not having our own tools for proper website scans.
We do not provide translation services for forms that require alt text to be of a different language. We can cooperatively work to provide the alt text in a different language requested only if the information to enter in that language is provided within the language needed, or if permissions are granted to use google translate, or other software automated systems for translations.
